  2 days ago i received a phone call from an elder that recently moved to the cong i was in.. this elder is the type that feels that he is a big shot!

  he gives parts in dc and ca's.. he asked me if he can come to visit, i told him that my husband had to be present and he had to call in advance to make an appointment.. this elder is so obnoxious and treat women as a 2nd class citizens.

  any suggestions?.

  call him back and say :

  "Regarding the appointment - sorry.......wish I could but I can't. I'm a little depressed right now, and I don't want to discuss it, so I'll call you when I'm ready for any appointment".

  I really find it amusing how uninformed you are:

  I have to state that is not true about the red cross. They will publically help people in crisis but try asking without the cameras

  My uncle worked for the American Red Cross for many years. They were always helping people in disasters, large and small - even when the cameras weren't on them. Whether there was an apartment complex fire or a whole mountainside on fire, or whatever disaster, the Red Cross was there helping people for the short term, then later on helping them to get back on their feet. You need to get some life experience, because your statements come off as pure ignorance. My uncle use to say, as fast as the Red Cross and it's volunteers were to get to a disaster, they were usually the 2nd relief agency there. The first - Salvation Army....and they didn't preach, just helped those in need.

  One of the biggest lies I ever learned on this site was how JWs believe that Almighty God only listens to their prayers..... not only is that NOT scriptural, it is so much controlling bullsh*t. Anyone that believes that should be ashamed of spreading lies about the nature of God.
